This article describes how to determine the Moka5 Player version from inside a LivePC. This information is useful when you are trying to diagnose specific behavior, or when upgrading Moka5 Guest Tools.

Finding the Moka5 Player Version from Inside a LivePC
Player version information can be accessed via registry inspection in Windows 7 LivePCs, as well as through a Guest Tools command line query on both Windows 7 & XP LivePCs.
Finding the Registry Key (Available in Windows 7 LivePCs)

Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe)

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Moka5 > Engine.

Find the Version entry in the “Name” column.

The Player version is displayed in the “Data” column.
Using the Command Line (Available in Windows 7 and XP LivePCs)

Open the command line.

Navigate to the Moka5 VMware Tools directory (in the example below, this directory is C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools.)

Type the following command:
vmtoolsd.exe --cmd "info-get guestinfo.m5engine_version"

Press Enter.

The Moka5 Player version number displays.
Finding Other Version Information
You can see other information about the LivePC, including type, server, and image version, from the LivePC menu inside the Player.

Launch the Moka5 Player.

Click the LivePC menu button next to the LivePC you wish to explore.
