SummaryThis article describes bulk duplication methods to distribute Moka5 on a USB key.
Important: The bulk duplication process does not work when a USB key is created on a Mac host and used on a Windows host. The process is successful for other hardware environments (between Mac hosts, between Windows hosts, and with a Windows source and Mac recipient), but will fail when a USB created on a Mac is used on a Windows host. Procedure:A) Set the policy
- On the management console, set the policy for the player and the LivePC
- In the Player policy, enable “Allow duplication for bulk provisioning”
- (Optional) The following policy must be set for the bulk-provisioned players to have encryption enabled: In the Player policy, enable “Player encryption." Set to AES-128 or AES-256 to enable.
B) Prepare the Player
- On another host, download and install the latest update for the Player
- Launch the Moka5 Player and subscribe the LivePC
- (Optional) If the Player encryption policy was enabled, verify that the player has encryption enabled (indicated by the lock icon on the lower right corner of the Player window). The encryption must be enabled on the player to pass the setting to the bulk-provisioned players.
- Once the LivePC is finish downloading, click "Prepare for duplication" from the Player menu
USB/Removable Storage ProvisioningNote: to avoid your users having to download several updates upon installation, we recommend updating your distribution environment monthly with the latest Player and LivePC update and repeating steps 4-8 below. Burning just a minimum number of DVDs or USBs with the latest build will ensure that users never have to download several updates to complete their installations.Important: USB Provisioning will fail on a FAT 32 USB device.
- Create a folder called "bulk" on the desktop.
- Download “MokaFiveInstaller.exe” from the download portal and save it to the root of the ‘bulk’ folder.
- Log in to the Management Console and download the Mac Player Installer, "Install_Moka5_Player_[version].zip.“
- Unzip the directory and copy its contents ("Install_Moka5_Player-config" directory and Install_Moka5_Player.mpkg) to the root fo the "bulk" folder.
- Create a folder called “Provision”
Note: The folder name is case sensitive and requires an upper-case P. - Log in to the Management Console and download the Windows Player to the Provision folder. The installer will be called 'MokaFive_Player_version'; where version is the version of your client pack.
- Copy the MokaFive folder located in the directory detailed below to the Provision folder. If you are on a Windows 7 machine, follow these steps to locate your mokafive folder:
a) If you installed MokaFive Player version 3.13.x and later - please find your LivePCs in:
- Default location: \users\Username\App Data\Local
- Custom location: this will be dependent on where you chose to install the LivePC data file
- If you are using a Mac, your MokaFive folder is located at: ~/Library/Application Support
- Rename "MokaFive" folder to "mokafive-initial"
- Burn the “bulk” folder to a USB stick. The USB stick should be formatted with a suitable file system, exFat is recommended for Windows/Mac dual purpose USB provisioning.
- Save the “bulk” folder in a convenient location so that you can easily update it and make new copies with each subsequent Player update (so users can avoid downloading updates at initial installation).
- Move USB to the desired machine and install the player normally, the LivePC will be installed as part of the process.
