Team

Monica Lam, PhD — Founder and CEO

Monica is currently on leave from Stanford University, where she has been a Professor in the Computer Science Department since 1988. Her research passion is in making computing and programming easier. She is one of the top 50 most cited computer science researchers in the world. She helped found Tensilica, a leading configurable processor core company on her last sabbatical in 1998. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.Sc. from University of British Columbia.

Lisa R. Davies — CMO and GM

Lisa brings 20 years of top company executive and consulting experience including McAfee, Symantec, eBay and Microsoft. Lisa has worked in major market segments spanning enterprise, smb and consumer. Her go to market experience includes multiple channels of distribution and categories. Lisa has been involved in several early stage companies taking them from home offices to major markets. Lisa is a member of Forum for Women Entrepreneurs.

Ramesh Chandra — Founder

Ramesh received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, India in 1998 and his Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. He is currently on leave from Stanford University, where he is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science. Ramesh was a key contributor to the Stanford Collective system, a prototype of moka5's initial product, since its inception.

Constantine Sapuntzakis — Founder

Constantine is a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford and holds B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in Computer Science from MIT. His Ph.D. thesis dissertation introduced the concept of virtual appliances, or LivePCs, and demonstrated its effectiveness for managing computers. His industrial experience includes years of consulting at Cisco and Kealia. He is known also for having co-authored both the iSCSI and RDMA protocol specifications.

John Whaley — Founder

John is a Ph.D. candidate from Stanford University, where he made key contributions to the field of program analysis, compilers and virtual machines. He is the winner of numerous paper awards and graduate fellowships, and has worked at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and IBM Tokyo Research Lab. He has over 25 years of programming experience and was one of the top 15 programmers in the USA Computing Olympiad. John holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Computer Science from MIT, and can speak fluent Japanese.

Vinod Khosla — Board Member and Founder, Khosla Ventures

Fortune Magazine calls Vinod Khosla one of the most successful venture capitalists of all time, and he was recently labeled as one of the nation's most influential ethanol advocates. Khosla Ventures delivers venture assistance, strategic advice and capital to entrepreneurs determined to build companies with a lasting impact.

Bill Raduchel, PhD — Board Member

Most recently, Bill Raduchel was the chairman and chief executive officer of Ruckus Network bringing a broad range of business experience in the computing, Internet and media industries. Before joining Ruckus Network, Raduchel was executive vice president and chief technology officer of AOL Time Warner, Inc. Prior to AOL, Raduchel served as chief strategy officer and an executive committee member for Sun Microsystems, Inc.
