Some Ways to Use LivePCs
The moka5 LivePC Engine™ allows you to "play" LivePCs™ in any environment. You can subscribe to LivePCs, create them, run them and share them all easily. Put the LivePC Engine on a portable USB drive and work wherever and whenever you need to. Subscribe to a few LivePCs and take them on the road; all your data will be backed up and synchronized whenever you plug the portable device into your home PC.
The following examples give you an idea of how LivePCs™ can be used. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it does include many common examples that have come up as we introduce a variety of different users to the LivePC Engine.
Work Anywhere
Carry your work environment on your keychain and you can work from home like you are in your office. Even if you can't access the Internet, just plug your USB drive into any PC and use your LivePCs offline. You will never be caught without your own computing environment as long as you can get to a PC.
Put Your Complete PC Environment on a Portable Device
You are going on vacation and don't want to lug a laptop around with you. But maybe you'll need to do a little work on that one important project. Or you'll want to show your photos to friends and family members. Plug your USB device into any hardware or "borrowed PC" and you are ready to go!
Maintain Multiple Personalities
With the LivePC Engine™ you can use a single computer and run different LivePCs on the same machine. Each LivePC runs in its own environment and can't accidentally modify the files in other LivePCs. A family could create one LivePC for the kids to play games on, another LivePC for the parents to work in, and one for the guests to browse the web and access their email. You don't have to buy separate machines for every member of the household. Consultants can carry just one laptop, and choose among different, isolated, PC environments with a single click.
Simplify Home PC Management
Many families have a designated computer expert who constantly has to fix all of the home computers or provide technical support to family members via the telephone. LivePCs can make life a lot easier for your family's tech support person. He or she can now remotely make fixes and updates; changes will be automatically shared by everyone using that LivePC. The rejuvenation feature of LivePCs is also great for cleaning up unwanted spyware and eliminating viruses with a simple reboot.
Collaborate with Colleagues
Share your environment with your team members, assuring everyone has the tools they need and access to the same code and data. This is great for collaboration, as everyone uses an identical version of the most current environment. If you develop and distribute your software, you can use LivePCs to create a complete standalone environment with all of the dependencies your software requires.
