LivePCs for Universities and Schools

There are many ways in which LivePCs™ can be used in universities! Here are just some examples:

  • LivePCs for educational software. Many students have their own state-of-the-art PCs. Since LivePCs allow managed software to be distributed easily, this means that universities can provide the educational computing environments for students without having to provide hardware facilities. Students can download the managed LivePCs and run them on the home PCs.
  • LivePCs for laboratories. Universities and schools can run the labs by running the Bare Metal version on the PCs. Students can log in and select the course software of interest, by selecting the LivePC for that course. This means that universities no longer have to dedicate PCs for specific course software, one course at a time.
  • LivePCs for research software. LivePCs are perfect for research software, where changes are constant. As a a result, there never seems like a good time to release software. Release the software as a LivePC, and users interested in experimenting with the software can simply boot up the machine, and they will always be using the latest.
  • LivePCs for staff. LivePCs can be used to manage staff's computers on and off campus.
