Moka5 Engine - BareMetal Edition

The moka5 Engine™ comes in two versions, as a Windows application or as a complete environment we call BareMetal. BareMetal combines our application with a Linux-based operating system.

The BareMetal edition of the moka5 Engine is available for download.

What's the Difference?

Our Windows application will run on any PC with Windows XP. It is the easiest way to install and try our software, and allows you to use as many LivePCs™ as you want from our LivePC Library. In virtualization parlance, our application uses your existing copy of Windows as the host operating system, and the LivePCs are the guests.

The BareMetal Edition is a complete operating system which you can install on any Intel-based PC. BareMetal acts as the virtualization host and the LivePCs are the guests. The BareMetal host environment is locked down to provide extra security against spyware and viruses, automatically updates itself to simplify management, and maintains all the benefits of using LivePCs in our Windows application. A common use of BareMetal is to manage a classroom or computer lab.

The LivePCs may contain any operating system that is supported by VMware as a guest operating system. All LivePCs will run in both the Windows application and the BareMetal environment.
