New Website Feature: "Distro of the Day"
The month of June is the official "Month of Distros" (1), so we are going to start a new feature called "Distro of the Day". Each day for the month of June, we will highlight a new Linux distribution that you can try out in a LivePC.
This is a great way to play around with different operating systems. With the LivePC Engine, you can use Windows, MacOS, Linux, BSD, or any of a myriad of other operating systems all seamlessly and with a single click. You don't need to install anything and because it runs in a virtual environment, the LivePC cannot affect your host computer. The LivePC Engine uses demand-paging so you can start using it right away without having to download the whole thing.
If you want to keep up with the distro of the day, you can subscribe to the official Distro of the Day LivePC, appropriately named "SchizOS" ;-). Every time you start the LivePC, you will be running the latest Distro of the Day. You can play around with it and if you like it, you can subscribe to the LivePC for that distro and start using it regularly.
If you have any favorite distribution you would like to see featured in the Distro of the Day, please leave a comment on the SchizOS page. Or even better, if you publish or update a Linux-based LivePC this month we will feature your LivePC as a Distro of the Day.
To get started, check out the first Distro of the Day: Linux Mint 3.0. And if you like the idea, please bump us up on Digg. Thanks!
(1) OK, so I made up the part about "Month of Distros". But June 7th is, in fact, "Trial Technology Day", where you are supposed to try out new technology. But one day is too short! Why not make it the whole month? :-)
