m5usb.exe - Application Error
I get the following error upon clicking on the m5launch.exe:
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d). Click on OK to terminate the application.
I have installed this on a usb flash drive. What can I do to get it running?
Thanks.
Re
Kevin,
1. OS is Win XP SP2
2. No, I tried that, and get the same error as when I click on m5launch.exe.
3. C:\DOCUME~2\Alfred\LOCALS~1\Temp
4. Yes, I have tried twice to uninstall and re-install.
Hope this info helps. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Alf
Your temp path seems
Your temp path seems interesting. Typically the path is C:\DOCUME~1\%userprofile%\LOCALS~1\Temp
Since DOCUME~2 is the path, what is DOCUME~1?
dir "c:\Documen*" /X should tell us both the short and long names.
For USB launches, we use this temp path so it may have so this could be part of the problem (just a guess for now).

Here is a cut and paste from my command prompt.
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

C:\Documents and Settings\Alfred>cd..
C:\Documents and Settings>cd..
C:\>dir c:\documen*
Volume in drive C is HPNOTEBOOK
Volume Serial Number is C07E-0352
Directory of c:\
04/07/2007 19:29 Documents and Settings
0 File(s) 0 bytes
1 Dir(s) 8,061,394,944 bytes free
C:\>
I only have one documents and settings directory, so I'm not sure why it showed a 2 instead of a 1.

Thanks for the info...I'm
Thanks for the info...I'm trying to repro your situation but I may be on a wild goose chance. Also can you tell me which USB device you tried installing on? Also by any chance is the m5launch.log at the root of the USB have any text?
Sanity check with the number of files on the on the USB:
moka5\Program Files\moka5\Engine\bin (31 files
moka5\Program Files\moka5\Engine\cfg (9 files)
moka5\Program Files\moka5\Engine\usb (5 files)

Can you tell us some
Can you tell us some additional about your enviroment.
1. What Windows host OS version are you using?
2. Can you click on the m5usb.exe manually? The expected message should be "internal error".
3. What is your user's profile %TEMP% and %TMP% folders set to? echo %TEMP% and echo %TMP% at a command window will show.
4. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing to the usb? There should be a m5uninstall.exe at the root of the drive letter.
Thanks
Kevin
