Secondary Hard Drive Question
Submitted by Aaron Fay on April 26, 2007 - 9:59pm.
Hi all, I search the forum and couldn't think of the right phrase probably to find the answer...
When LivePC installs, it gives me 2 options, Desktop and Thumb drive, and I chose desktop, created a xGb virtual disk etc. But I don't want the virtual disk on my primary hdd, i would like to put it on a secondary (for performance reasons if anything else).
1. Where is my virtual drive stored now?
2. Is it possible to host it on another drive?
Thanks,
Aaron
Currently the LivePC Engine
Currently the LivePC Engine does not support customized locations to store the LivePCs.
For desktop installation's, the LivePC's virtual disks will be stored in the user's profile's APPDATA location.
A workaround would be to create a new user profile to use the secondary disk.
The user profiles' registry for APPDATA may look something like after create a new user and copying the profile to the new disk.
Registry location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
AppData "E:\Documents and Settings\testuserE\Application Data"
Type "echo %APPDATA%" at the command line will confirm that the registry if correct.
