Installation - Bare Metal

Hello guys:

I am planning to install the Bare Metal version in one of our computers. I have a couple of questions.

- Hard drive has two partitions (NTSF). One contains data and I do not want to lose it. Do I have to worry? Will moka5 recognize them and ask me where to install?

- Computer is connected to the LAN/Internet through a wireless adapter (D-Link -- DWL-G122, 811-g). Is this a problem during installation or after?

Thank you,

Peter

Bare metal installation

Bare metal installation allows installation for dual-boot installation and requires 3 partitions to be manually created.

baremetal getting started

Once booted into the bare-metal installer, you can press F5 to open a term window to manually create the required partitions. If you need to resize your current partition, you will need to use something like Partition magic or gparted.

Baremetal has limited wireless support and I am pretty confident that D-Link's DWL-G122 is not supported in the baremetal kernel version. The network is required when downloading LivePCs from the library but is not required if you have VMware images that you which to import or if you create a LivePC that will reside only in the bare-metal machine.
