moka5

Thumb drive died

I do not understand why this happened, but my thumb drive is dead now.

I had moka 5 installed on it and It was a one gig flash usb drive. I need it quickly to transfer some files here at the office.

I inserted it and saw that it was a Moka5 drive that I had not used for some time now, and I selected all and chose delete.

Then I ejected it and took it to the pc and I need files from and it would not work, wouldnt work on any pc I tried it on.

Its dead.

Any ideas?

Oh no. Which USB thumb

Oh no. Which USB thumb drive are you using? Here are several items to check out.

1. Is the Device Manager showing the your thumb drive. The USB Controller should detect your USB thumbdrive under as Disk drives.

2. If item #1 is working, check Disk Management to see if it still shows a partition or not. It should show a valid partition, typically FAT32. If it's "Unknown", that means the partition table got corrupt after deleting the files. You might be able to create a new partition and continue using the thumb drive.

3. Check the Event Log on the original host to see if any errors occurred during the deletion of the files.

Kevin

no dice

Well it doesnt show up in disk managment at all, and there is nothing relevant in the event logs.

Any more ideas? Is it toast now, just that fast?
