moka5 LivePC Player in Parallels on an intel Mac
I've sucessfully installed linux, Windows XP and Solaris as virtual machines but I'm having problems with moka5 LivePC Player. It doesn't believe there is a network connection. Parallels emulates a Realtek 8029(AS) network adapter. Can the Bare Metal moka5 LivePC Player use this Realtek network adapter? Has anyone else successfully installed moka5 LivePC Player on Parallels Desktop for Mac (Version 2.2 Build 1862 Beta)?
Re: Is this Windows or Bare Metal?
Bare metal. I just wanted a Live PC player as one of my virtual machines in Parallels.
Trouble with Realtek
Thanks. It appears that we are having some trouble enabling the network device in Parallels. You can work around this by pressing F5 to bring up an xterm and then run
/usr/bin/dhclient-retry eth0 up
However, even with the network you won't be able to go much further with the LivePC Player inside of Parallels. The LivePCs are virtual machines that run in a copy of VMware Player, and VMware Player will not run inside of Parallels. To use Bare Metal you'll need to install it outside of Parallels.
Is this Windows or Bare Metal?
Are you installing our Windows application version into a Windows virtual machine in Parallels, or are you creating a virtual machine with our Bare Metal LivePC Player install CD?
