Any updates to the baremetal version?

Have there been any updates to the bare metal edition, or is there any planned updates to that edition?

It looks to me like you're still at the 0.9.1-4051 version that I last downloaded in November and tested in December.

I was hoping to see some incremental updates and feature changes that have been mentioned in the forums, but don't know where this fits on your priorities or roadmap.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

You are right, we've been focusing on the Windows version recently; however the Bare Metal edition is not forgotten and we *will* be updating it to match the Windows version at some point in the future. Unfortunately I can't give you any hard dates at this time.

We are also considering a non-bare-metal Linux version and a Mac version. If you have interest in these, please let us know so we can gage the response and adjust our priorities.

Thanks,
John

Status of Bare Metal and Linux versions ?

I would be interested in updates to both the bare metal edition itself, as well as with any proposed Linux-based non-bare-metal edition that might be coming down the pipeline.

I thought the bare metal edition was perhaps one of the best ways that I might be able to use Moka5 for creating a distributable standard image that is locked down, for some of my clients.

I'd still like to see the ability to password-protect the base Moka5 console and configurations, and to be able to specify that a VM automatically start at BME startup (or Moka5 startup), AND to make that VM be full-screen. Finally, I'd also want to be able to password-protect the ability to switch OUT of full-screen (or have some other way to "block" clients or students from "breaking out" of the VM.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tom, There will be an

Hi Tom,

There will be an update to the Bare Metal version fairly soon. If you would be interested in helping to test out the new Bare Metal release, please send us an email at [email protected] and we can give you access to a preview version. The new version will have some of the lockdown features you are talking about. It would be really great to hear how you are planning to use the LivePC Engine and also your feedback on the new version.
