How big of a cache did you specify when you installed? Vista is a big LivePC so it could be that it won't fit and the blocks are being evicted as some other LivePC is being fetched. If you have enough space in your cache, you could click on "Let me use this LivePC offline", which will lock the blocks for that LivePC in your cache.
If you want to see how full your cache is, you can use the cache-control command line program. Type "cache-control state" to see cache statistics. You can also use "cache-control create NNN" to create a new cache. The "NNN" is the number of 128k blocks in the new cache, so for a 4GB cache it would be 32000.
