Allow access to baremetal version from desktop aswell.

I am using the baremetal version to good effect. However there are times when I am using older desktops where you cannot boot from USB. So it would be useful if in these circumstances I could access Moka% from the desktop.

thanks,
Marc.

Try our boothelper CD

If you are having trouble booting from the USB drive on some older machines, try our boot helper CD. It is a tiny CD image that can fit on one of those credit-card size CDs. Booting from that CD will allow you to boot from the USB drive, even if you cannot normally boot from it. It's worked fine on every machine I've tried it on so far.

Regarding access from the Windows desktop, that is something we are working on. In the meantime, you may be able to use a program like ext2ifs to access the files on a bare-metal installation from Windows. That's what I use to access my hard disk bare metal installation.

Accessing Bare Metal from Windows

Thanks for the advice about ext2ifs... so now I can see the drive is it possible to run the LivePC I have on it in a Moka5 installation on my windows. I can see the virtual image on the HD but cannot import it?

There's no way to run it

There's no way to run it directly from the ext3 drive. You can try copying the directory for your LivePC and a file named "applist" from your ext3 partition into "C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\moka5\Engine" and starting the LivePC Engine. (The "applist" file contains subscription information and is only necessary if you want to keep your subscriptions.) The LivePC Engine should recognize your LivePC and import it. If it doesn't work, let me know and I may be able to help you.
