An open source effort to first recreate and then extend a most excellent, once-commercially-supported, closed-source, media-oriented desktop computer operating system called the Be operating system (BeOS).
Would be a lot more useful if it had Networking Support

Not really a lot to try out with out being able to use a web browser or install other applications.

Just posted a new version. This updates it to the latest nightly build (20086), which includes some exciting new developments, such as basic networking support and a beta VMware video driver.
The image includes wget, ping, and a few other networking tools. So now it is much easier to download new programs.
Note that Haiku is still alpha software and so it still has many, many bugs. It is pretty neat to play with, though. Boot up is lightning fast!

Nice. Thanks for hosting an image of Haiku in your library. Whilst there is no network at present, we hope to have that rectified this year with the work (and other stuff) currently being performed by GSoC applicants.
