Keyboard not getting detected.

Hi Cancerbot,

My understanding of the problem is this: you created a livepc, insert windows cd, booted it up, you can see the blue setup screen but anything you type on the keyboard does not go through into the setup program.

If my understanding is wrong please let me know.

I am asking around to see if anyone ran into similar problems.

Meanwhile, if you could tell me more information it could be helpful:

1, Which Windows CD did you insert into the CD ROM? Windows XP SP2? Windows 2000? Windows ME?

2, Does this problem happen all the time? Or just sporadically?

3, Does this problem happen if you use the default OO2Go+ LivePC shipped with the LivePC Engine?

4, please also send us the vmware.log from following location:

C:\documents and settings\[username]\Application Data\moka5\[livepcname]\vmware.log

I can use my keyboard on every other app but these 2 install disk. I am downloading window vista now.

I see all the livepc's i am using except the one in question I did not host the pc anywhere yet not sure if that is why i have no [livepcname] dir. oh i see it now it just isn't the same dir probally because i started off my livepc with a peroid whoops.

Ok this is realy weird to me I put the same cd and now it can use the keyboard. not sure why just waited a day don't even think i reset my computer updated any sfotware or anything. i will post the logs anyhow. Good luck with this

Hi,

I'm glad you got it working. I've seen this problem before when VMware is accessing a slow disk, like a CDROM drive. I think once you have it installed on a local disk, the problem goes away.

Another workaround I've found is to explicitly type Control-G in the VMware window to direct input to the virtual machine. This seems to fix the mouse and keyboard input in some cases.
