moka5tools-1.0b-8748 re-directs users’ folders to wrong location
Background:
VMware Player 2.0.1 build-55017 (Installed locally on host PC)
Host PC OS: Windows XP SP2 (all patches)
Moka5 v1.0.11226(beta)
Custom LivePC running Windows XP SP2 (all patches) and the latest version of VMware Tools (build-56528) and moka5tools old version (I don't know how to find exact version.).
User Folders has been re-directed correctly.
Symptoms:
After the upgrade to moka5tools-1.0b-8748 (uninstalled the old version and clean install of the new) the users' folders are re-directed to wrong location. For example:
If the user is called 'dummy' it's 'My Documents' folder will be re-directed to location '\\192.168.3.2\\' instead it should be '\\192.168.3.2\\dummy\My Documents'
Questions and suggestion:
Is the re-direction behavior of moka5tools has been changed and why?
If the new moka5 engine is bundled with VMware Player 2.x, should be better to use "Share folders' and the path should look something like '\.host\Shared Folders\xxx\xxx\'?
The latest moka5 tools was
The latest moka5 tools was intentionally changed to remove the %userprofile% from the user file redirect. This was change due to a feature that was implemented.
We'll be investigating into the VMware ShareFolders option as well. This feature is known as HGFS and it is compatible with moka5 LivePCs if the LivePC is configured with these options. Our Fearless LivePC has both the SMB user files and HGFS features enabled.
To configure the ShareFolders option, you may need to enable the Show Toolbar in the LivePC's Configure, Advanced options. Don't forget, the configure is not available for running or suspended LivePCs.
