New user feedback
I've posted a few specific feature requests in other topics, what follows is a bit more of a vauge viewpoint from a new user.
So far creating a Windows XP LivePC has been relatively painless, I love the fact that I can take my USB drive and run my own windows at work and at my parents.
I've encountered a number of issues trying to get running with Moka5:
1) First pain was the install of the tools to allow file sharing. The extra steps for the logins and access for other users were not such a simple install and in fact I broke my first LivePC by not following all the steps correctly. It would be helpful to improve and / or automate this.
2) I'm confused about the difference between the My Shared LivePC Documents and the My LivePC Documents. I think I understand that the Shared version is shared across ALL Live PCs for which it is enabled and I can add files to the folder on the LivePC I created. Is the non-Shared version for an individual LivePC ? Where is it in the LivePC so I can add documents to it ?
3) It would be much simple for me, working only from PCs I trust to be able to select which paritions on the hard and / or USB drive I would like to be available in each LivePC. This is my major pain I've a lot of data I want to access in the LivePC and I don't want the inconvenience of copying to and from the LivePC Document folders.
4) Lack of configurability, everything is forced onto the C: drive, the LivePC documents, the backups, LivePC files. I try to keep a lean C drive with only program files and operating system on it, (I know this is not always possible), the insistence of keeping all that data on C especially when you are forcing me to put my large amount of data there too for sharing reasons is causing me a major pain.
Moka5 is really close to what I need, I'm amazed it is free as it is a product I would happily pay for. Hopefully these comments will provide some insight to the frustations a new user is experiencing.
Thanks for listening, Martin Looker.
