Workaround for AFS in LivePCs

If you are using AFS in your LivePC and you experience AFS hangs, this could be happening due to AFS timeouts. We are working on fixing this, but meanwhile here is a workaround.

1. Open the file [ProfileDir]\All Users\Application Data\VMware\vmnetnat.conf in your favorite editor. The [ProfileDir] on Windows XP is typically C:\Documents and Settings\.

2. Look for the timeout field under the udp section in this file. For example, you might find the following lines:

[udp]
# Timeout in seconds, 0 = no timeout, default = 30; real value might
# be up to 100% longer
timeout = 30

3. Change the timeout value to be 0. In the above example, you will edit the line
timeout = 30
to
timeout = 0

4. Restart "VMware NAT Service". You can access the service from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.

LivePC Engine updated to support AFS

The LivePC Engine has been updated to support AFS. If you upgrade to the latest version of the Engine, you do not need to use the above workaround.
