3D Help
Basically I've installed:
host is windows xp sp2
guest: windows xp sp2
vmware player: 1.04
mokatools installed on livepc: moka5tools-1.0b-8748.msi
directx9.0c
I ran dxdiag on my guest and it says the driver is vga.dll
I believe it's suppose to say VMWare SVGA II, right? How do I get that to change?
I clicked on Test Direct3D and the results were:
Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of memory)
Direct3D 8 test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)

I installed vmware tool and I got it to change the driver. Also skipped 7 and 8 and tested directx3d 9 - it worked. But I have another problem:

roseonline uses a software called nprotect which prevents the game from running in a virtual machine. This problem also occurs with VMware 2.0's DirectX experimental.

oh... thanks for going
oh... thanks for going through all the hassle and trouble to help me. I heard that another game called 'Maple Story' works on VMWARE. It uses Nprotect but it is a 2D game...
VMware SVGA will show once
VMware SVGA will show once the VMware tools for Windows have been installed.
The VMware tools is available in the windows.iso file distributed with
VMware Player 2.0.
For Dirext3D 9, skip 7 and 8 and test Dirext3D 9 directly.
