We also noticed the bloating of the installer as well. We'll see what happens in testing. In general, when running the Engine from USB, it will use the VMware Player version already on the host if one exists. Kevin Thu, 17 May 2007 13:40:43 -0700 Update 1 http://www.moka5.com/node/807#comment-919 I manually installed VMware Player 2.0 on a different machine, and Moka5 successfully opened/ran my VM stored on my flash drive (created in Workstation 6.0). The VM Player installer is 148,608 KB compared to only 26,930 KB for v1.0.4! It appears that v2.0 is packaged with some operating system .iso's. Hopefully, there will be a reduced installer available without that bloat... Thu, 17 May 2007 11:49:44 -0700 Trying it out... http://www.moka5.com/node/807#comment-918 I created a VM using the new 6.0 version of Workstation, and it converted fine when importing into Moka5. However, using the flash drive on another computer (no prior install of a VM product), it appears to install VM Player 1.0.4, then fails to load the VM, citing a version error. This makes sense, as I should need VM Player 2.0 to run my VM. Where can I find a .msi (or how may I extract it from the .exe) of VM Player 2.0 to try to get Moka5 working with this image (USB 2.0 support is key)? Failing that, what files do I need to replace manually to get this to run? Thanks, ~JP Thu, 17 May 2007 09:04:34 -0700 VMware Player 2.0 Compatibility http://www.moka5.com/node/807 VMware has released the offical version of VMware Player 2.0 and VMware Workstation 6.0.
