Once it is downloaded you can enable "Let me keep change" and do what every you want inside the LivePC. Install programs, surf to any site, etc. When you're tired of installing programs, shutdown the LivePC and then turn disable "Let me keep changes. Now start the LivePC again. Nothing to download since the Subscribed/Downloaded LivePC is already in your cache. (make sure you allocate enough cache so you the LivePC can fit). Now you get to do it all over again and use your LivePC for whatever you wish. If you needed to update the LivePC in the future, disable "Let me keep changes", start the LivePC to ensure that it is clean. Shutdown from inside the LivePC. enable "Let me keep change" and make the changes you need and just package and upload using the shallow option. This will upload only the new changes to save time. In order to clean and lock down a clean state, you need to save that state first. Here are the steps: - Create your Windows XP LivePC - Package it (Under the Advance Options) - Upload that LivePC to a webserver. You can do upload it to moka5.com server now with out least release. - Subscribe to that LivePC Now you will have a LivePC that you can always revert back to. If you need to update the LivePC, you just change it and package it up again. Tue, 12 Jun 2007 18:15:44 -0700 allow me to make changes http://www.moka5.com/node/740#comment-983 hello Kelvin maybee you know wwhat im doing wrong, ive made a livepc with windows XP, it worked fine .. still does and i wanted to let it revert to its startup state every time i start it up. wich is done by turning "let me make changes to this livepc" off according to what ive read here. i did this on an old engine version .. 1.0.8xxxxx ..straight away i could not start it anymore with the message could not find server [its locally run from my harddisk so it doesnt need a server]. my option was overwrite the files from a duplicate disk [maybee i should have deleted this one first]. then i installed latest version of the engine. all worked like a charm until i wanted to turn off "let me make changes to this livepc". its greyed out as an non available option. and i cant seem to find any way to make that option available .. is this because of a mistake an error or cant i use that option on locally run live pc's would appreciate any possible solution stephan Tue, 12 Jun 2007 17:57:11 -0700 Hi Peter, "Let me make http://www.moka5.com/node/740#comment-834 Hi Peter, "Let me make changes" allows you to install new software on a LivePC and to go to the LivePC Configuration page to change various System Settings. "Lock down this LivePC" is a feature in our professional edition of the LivePC Engine. The IT system admin will use the "Let me make changes" option to create and customize the LivePC. Then he will also select "Lock down this LivePC" option. Next he will package and upload this LivePC and his users will subscribes to this LivePC using the professional edition of the LivePC Engine. That version of the Engine will honor the "Lock down this LivePC" option and will not present the "Let me make changes" option to the general users. Hope this helps. What happens if I choose "Let me make changes" and "Lock down this LivePC?" That is, what exactly is "Lock down?" How is it work combined with "Let me make changes?"
