Make sure you select the correct device during installation. You can press the F5 option once you are in the baremetal installer and use "fdisk -l" to determine which the devices mappings. If you are unsure, you may want to disable/power off your main disk during the installation. Selecting "dual-boot" will allow GRUB to select the Windows parititon or the bare-metal partition if you are sharing the disk. Hope this helps. Kevin Wed, 14 Mar 2007 10:00:16 -0700 Help with installing Bare Metal on USB Hard Drive http://www.moka5.com/node/695 I have a 120gb external hard drive and a dell computer with USB-boot enabled. I have downloaded and burned the bare metal edition. I would like to install Moka5 bare metal edition on my hard drive and then install Vista Ultimate inside it. I have a couple of questions before I begin. If I were to install it on my USB drive, what would happen to my existing boot.ini file? What option should I choose normal or dual-boot? Any problems with this, for example, would it screw up my currently installed Windows MCE 2005 version on my computer? Any performance issues? Thanks Sat, 10 Mar 2007 11:17:36 -0800
