For an XP LivePC ,I used the 192.x.x.2 to access the host C:\ disk My sample: net use \\192.x.x.2\C I needed to enable sharing on C and had the share name as "C". Without having sharing enabled, I got the username/password prompts. I'm not sure about the C$ yet. It does not accept the computername\username + password of the host pc...
