The LivePC Engine supports the proxy settings if configured in Internet Explorer. If IE is not used or configured, then downloads will typically not work. Also can you get a ethereal trace to help determine the slowness? Is it possible that the proxy does not like the type of requests from the LivePC Engine and causing retries to occur? I was really hoping to show this technology to my peers in the research area in my company, but the performance is just so slow that it does not give confidence in the solution. Why when I work on my slower DSL line without a proxy do I get slow but acceptable download performance but as soon as I go behind the works proxy things just get so slow that it is not clear if anything is happening. My pc at home only has 256M of ram so slow performance is to be expected, but at work I have a reasonably powerful machine and was so surprised that things just worked so badly.
