Sorry to hear that you're experiencing slowness with a proxy. We'd like to correct that.
How did you specify the details of the proxy?
Can you send us a tcpdump (to [email protected] ) of the network traffic when you are behind a proxy server?
Thanks!

I am having the same issue. I am behind a proxy server that works quite well with Firefox on my host PC, however, performance is very slow when using a LivePC VM. Most times I timed out.Mon, 25 Jun 2007 11:16:47 -0700Press Ctrl-F8 (sorry I

Press Ctrl-F8 (sorry I forgot to add Ctrl before) when the LivePC Engine has started and a slew of Engineering options will be made available. The LivePC Engine supports the proxy settings if configured in Internet Explorer. If IE is not used or configured, then downloads will typically not work.
Also can you get a ethereal trace to help determine the slowness?
Is it possible that the proxy does not like the type of requests from the LivePC Engine and causing retries to occur?
Please let us know if manually configuring the proxy helps.

kevin,
I believe the proxy is http.
I am not sure where I am suppose to press F8. I am on windows XP SP 2 and pressing F8 does not seem to have an effect?

Can you provide more information on the proxy configure? is it using http or sock4, sock5? Also please provide the results from ipconfig /all (send this to [email protected])
Also can you check some additional options (when it is running at work?), Using the F8 option when the Engine is active will provide some engineering options for proxy configuration.
Please let us know if this helps.

Just to make it clear when I mean slow. I mean that the buffering and calculating are taking an absolute age to complete even on the smallest Live PC.

I am slightly disappointed that no one has commented on this. I was really hoping to show this technology to my peers in the research area in my company, but the performance is just so slow that it does not give confidence in the solution.
Why when I work on my slower DSL line without a proxy do I get slow but acceptable download performance but as soon as I go behind the works proxy things just get so slow that it is not clear if anything is happening. My pc at home only has 256M of ram so slow performance is to be expected, but at work I have a reasonably powerful machine and was so surprised that things just worked so badly.

I first found moka5 when looking from home. But when I tried to use it at work the downloads were so slow.
In fact I gave up mostly. I tried both desktop and ipod, so it does not seem to be a device thing.
