Thank you for your request and we will bear this request in mind and prioritize for future developments. If the game is a 2-D game, it works ok. For example, we play Quake2 in the office and its performance is quite good. Thanks for trying out the LivePC Engine! I know it depends on what physical pc i plug my livepc into but would the virtualisation layer allow for directx and Nvidia Geforce usage from the livepc if the physical pc is equipped? We're glad that the Windows version is up and running for you. >> run a WinXP image on top of it, what about the virtualisation of the hardware underneath? will my Windows XP VM be able to seamlessly access all the hardware underneath just like how it would if I were to directly run it on the machine? The Bare Metal Hardware version currently comes with support and drivers for a wide range of machines. However, it is by no means exhaustive. Depending on your machine configuration certain devices may not work. For example, we found that certain wireless network adapters are not recognized, on certain machines there is no sound output due to lack of drivers. Therefore, if you run your Windows XP LivePC on top of this, Windows XP will be able to use all the devices that the Bare Metal Hardware version recognises. >> So what's the secret sauce in the Bare Metal version which is performing the virtualisation? You can try out the Bare Metal Version and find out! ;-) If you don't mind, perhaps you can let us know your hardware configuration and what works after you try out the Bare Metal Hardware version. Such user data would be very useful for us. Please let me know with a reply to this feed if you have more questions. I'm currently running the "Windows version + VMWare Player + DSL image" and it works great! But lets say I wipe off WinXP on my machine and install the Bare Metal version on my harddisk, and then run a WinXP image on top of it, what about the virtualisation of the hardware underneath? For instance, VMWare Player presents only certain dummy hardware configurations to the virtual OS images (ethernet/sound card/etc). In other words, will my Windows XP VM be able to seamlessly access all the hardware underneath just like how it would if I were to directly run it on the machine? Mon, 07 Aug 2006 23:34:45 -0700
