I have managed to get the game to run with severe graphics glitches and crashing, as tho the 3d lighting is a major issue while using VM Workstation. Also I'm being led to believe that the NAT is not going to be a solution, I may have to create an additional IP address on the Host and bridge the connection. I am not 100% sure about the NAT issue though because I have absolutely no clue how the net-code for the game is handled. I would be curious to see if that solves at least the frequent disconnects that I was getting. I am still trying to get moka5 running as I really like the interface it provides. Going to delete the virtual machine .vmx and start from scratch again. This time will create it with VM Workstation then import it to moka5 and see if that works, first without the moka tools then with. I will report back here when I have results. Which version of the moka5 tools is the current version? I have 2 copies, one a 9800 then another an 8748. It seems most are recommending the 8748 download. It would be great to get an official recommendation, with perhaps a brief description as to why. Is the 8748 more widely compatible or targeted for different hardware platforms? I also found out that a lot of my video problems the last few days were caused by the ATI driver update that I performed prior to attempting the moka5 install the first time. ATI is having serious problems with version 7.9 and I cleaned out drivers as recommended by: http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_3.html Then Installed the new drivers without the Catalyst, tho I may find myself re-downloading the 7.8 CCC application. Again, Many Thanks to any productive responses I receive, the other two forums I posted a request for help thread received no reply worth even reading. I really am hoping this thread does not die as the two previous threads regarding the 3d support issues. I will report my findings back here and continue to check for a response to the above questions! I'll be able to test this out and see what's up early next week. I have seen games which detect VMs, so I'll have to verify that this isn't one of those games. -tj Fri, 14 Sep 2007 20:33:37 -0700 I tried both http://www.moka5.com/node/1368#comment-1203 I tried both moka4tools-1.0b-8748.msi as well as moka5tools-9800.msi with mixed results as listed above. tried each of these installs with and without the manual config file edit as suggested on one of these forums. The guest tools I had installed for my Bioshock demo at VMWorld are <a href="http://downloads.moka5.com/guest/moka5tools-9800.msi">located at http://downloads.moka5.com/guest/moka5tools-9800.msi</a>. What revision tools did you download? Thu, 13 Sep 2007 14:22:47 -0700 got 3d? http://www.moka5.com/node/1368 I read and tried the suggestions offered in the threads titled "3d Acceleration" and "3D problems" but both threads seem to have fallen to deaf ears (or eyes in the case of text read). I have tried both VMware workstation as well as moka5, used prebuilt virtual machines, as well as installed my own fresh copy of WinXP pro. I have tried with and without moka5 tools, with and without vmware tools, and have edited the config file as suggested and tried without the manual edit. Wed, 12 Sep 2007 20:50:04 -0700
