MokaFive Announces New Service Providers to Offer Company’s Virtual Desktop Solution

Managed Service Providers Simplify and Scale Operations, and Offer Value Added Desktop Management Services with MokaFive Suite Service Provider Edition

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—February 1, 2010MokaFive™, the virtual desktop management company, today announced additional managed service providers (MSPs) have joined the MokaFive Partner Network. With the addition of these partners, MokaFive’s unique approach to virtual desktop management is further validated. MokaFive Suite Service Provider Edition, allows service providers to manage, update and provision distributed virtual desktops for multiple tenants as a managed service.

MokaFive offers partners the resources needed to deliver an efficient managed service that reduces desktop support and infrastructure costs, while supporting multiple customers, platforms and geographic locations.

“MokaFive has enabled POCS to expand the secure delivery of core medical applications to our network of client healthcare providers far more efficiently than we could ever achieve via physical deployments,” said Douglas Malie, CEO and founder of POCS. “We have full visibility and control over multiple tenant accounts from a single console, and physicians appreciate the ability to easily and securely connect to their data and applications from anywhere, even while offline.”

According to leading industry analyst firm Stratecast, a division of Frost & Sullivan, for MSPs to move effectively into virtual desktop management they must first confirm scalability, manageability, personalization and infrastructure investment costs of the solutions they evaluate. The growing market embrace of the cloud-as-a-service delivery mechanism and supporting technologies, as well as the trends of mobility and device diversity, are catalysts for this transformation.

“MokaFive Suite Service Provider Edition uses shared resources, including both infrastructure and virtual machine images, enabling MSPs to gain leverage and scale to offer desktop management service without the cost and complexity associated with competing, traditional hosted VDI approaches,” said Michael Suby, VP of Research at Stratecast. “MokaFive is in a favorable position to capture a share of MSP-driven deployments in the time ahead based on the strength of its offering.”

MokaFive’s layered approach to virtual desktop management provides MSPs with standardized image control for customized applications and data on Windows or Mac. Single click recovery from malware and virus attacks minimizes helpdesk calls, while the strongest integrated security of any virtual desktop management solution on the market ensures a no-risk virtual computing experience. MSPs benefit from the broadest set of management policies and granular control to meet the most stringent customer demands.

These MSPs include:
Point of Care Solutions (POCS)—A provider of agile medical platforms and core medical applications to doctor’s offices and medical practices
RSPEED, Inc.—An IT management provider focused on business continuity, disaster recovery, application virtualization, secure remote access and management platforms
Seasquall—A desktop management solution provider catering to small- to medium-sized businesses
