Moka5™ Brings Enhanced Virtual Computing Services to Mac OS X
Preview of Moka5 for Mac delivers enhanced virtualization services and a library of community-created LivePC™ virtual machines to users of VMware Fusion
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — December 19, 2007 — Moka5, the desktop virtualization services company, today announced a preview of its Moka5 for Mac OS X, available via free Web download at www.mokafive.com.
Mac users running VMware Fusion can now also run Moka5's LivePC virtual machines, which include advanced virtualization features such as self-healing, user data protection, and automatic updates. The Moka5 LivePC Library, available at lab.mokafive.com, gives VMware Fusion users immediate access to a large selection of fully configured LivePCs including Ubuntu Linux, SuSE Linux, and FreeBSD. Free LivePCs have been created for many popular applications such as Ladybug LivePC, a kid-safe Web browser, Fearless Browser for anonymous browsing, Quake action games, and Ubuntu evaluation.
The upcoming beta release of Moka5 for Mac, targeted for early 2008, will allow the same LivePC to be carried between Windows and Mac computers using portable storage such as a USB drive or an iPod. With the Moka5 for Mac beta, users will enjoy a consistent computing environment between home and work using almost any X86 desktop or laptop.
"Moka5 for Mac OS X takes virtualization beyond simply running different operating systems on a Mac computer. It allows VMware Fusion users to experience the unique benefits of LivePC virtual machines, such as self-healing from malware infections, secure user data partitions, and lightweight, automatic LivePC updates. Of course, it also gives them access to a large, community-driven library of popular LivePCs," said John Whaley, Founder and Principal Engineer at Moka5. "With the upcoming beta release, users will be able to take their work computer home and their home computer to work, all on a USB flash drive. If you can plug a USB storage device into your Mac or PC, you'll be able to run almost anything you want on almost any machine."

System Requirements
Moka5 for Mac OS X requires an Intel-based Mac running Tiger 10.4 or Leopard 10.5 and VMware Fusion 1.1. Users are responsible for licenses for VMware Fusion and any operating systems and applications requiring licenses that run in LivePCs.
