IT Specialist

moka5 is looking for talented and ambitious system administrator/IT specialist to join our high-powered team. We are a well-funded Silicon Valley startup creating the generation of virtualization products. There are two main areas for this role:

• maintain and support our IT infrastructure. Help plan our infrastructure growth, both in terms of the no. of employees and customers.
• interface with and support with our customers in the IT profession.

Overall duties would include, but not be limited to:

• Oversight of all internal and external infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Additionally, responsible for managing relationships with data services providers, as well as assisting in the project management and deployment.
• Handle day-to-day technical support services for all our systems and Infrastructure, including:
  • Operations of community web site and highly available web services.
  • Troubleshooting and management of office networking servers and components.
  • Office Automation software and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, etc.)
• Understand our technologies and products and be a liaison to our customers in the IT profession.
• Resolve and customer technical issues through diligent research, reproduction, and troubleshooting.
• Work directly with staff in quality assurance, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and administration to resolve problems.
• Provide training or assistance to junior staff and/or customers.
• Participate in testing of products. Develop and review content for knowledge base.

Requirements/Skills:

• BS/MS/PhD Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Several years of hands-on experience in server and network administration, troubleshooting and deployment
• Extensive experience working with technologies from Microsoft, Cisco, and various Unix/Linux vendors.
• Project planning, network design, setup and configuration of networks and servers, testing, and rollout required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and customer management skills.
• Outstanding ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Flexibility and agility is essential to this position.
